Sundays Rising Sessions
The Brief: Create a weekly series of music events for the newly-rebranded bar.
Venue: 91 Living Room.
What we did: When you have a public space you want to make sure you know who is your potential audience and similar entertainment offers in the area and in London.
Brick Lane is certainly one of the most artistic areas of London, where you expect to see what is new, upcoming and exciting. Brick Lane is always busy on a Sunday with tourists and other passers-by. We wanted to create something exciting to add on the the offer and also march what people want to do in a Sunday afternoon: relax, feel positive emotions while having a late lunch. So we looked into upcoming artists, new talent on the rising that are bringing own original sounds within the soul, jazz, urban and electronic scene. The result? Sunday Rising! Every week in an intimate living room style atmosphere, a delight for the ears and the heart. The ideal way to discover new music, feeling cosy and uplifted. The series ran successfully throughout the winter to then give space to a new outdoor summer concept for the summer months.
The Brief: Create the entertainment offer for a new speakeasy bar.
Venue: Hester’s Hideout
What we did: 1- Looked into the history of speakeasy and the history of the bar…fascinating fact!: the owner of that same pub used to use the cellar to make dodgy deals and drink undisturbed. 2 - We looked at the London cabaret scene and entertainment trends in the capital: People love cabaret, circus and burlesque but want to go out and enjoy friends time too while being entertained.
3 – We created “Sneak Easy” and “Kitty’s Kabaret” two weekly rendezvous downstairs at the speakeasy bar. We disrupted the stage. We put together a roster of the top cabaret performers of the capital from hosting, singing, dancing, magic, comedy, circus, burlesque and the weird and wonderful. We did it in an immersive style: all acts were not performers but guests of the evening.
The result: Hester’s Hideout was a place where to go have an exquisite cocktail with friends, while the oddly behaved and beautifully costumed guests would come and chat to you, do a little trick while you are sipping a glass of gin cocktail. Then, every so often, unexpectedly, an act would pop up and offer a spectacle in its own right. A wow moment offering emotions from surprise to astonishment to participation to pure fun. The show ran for the full eight months of the season gaining sell-outs on most nights, receiving “The best new cabaret spot in London” award by Design My Night.
The Brief: Supply unique Chinese acts for the Chinese NY evening at the restaurant.
Venue: Park Chinois
What we did: An exclusive venue needs exclusive entertainment. Top of the world performers, the class of the golden eras and the unexplored Chinese tradition were our guidelines. We provided Bei Bei Wang, a world class award winning percussionist who played for the likes of the UN and other prestigious clients. She performed a masterpiece Chinese drumming performance to bring high energy and astonishingly skilful moments to the evening. Non-musical entertainment had to accompany a sophisticated Chinese inspired meal, hence the second act had to be refined, on-theme, and something you cannot see anywhere else. We brought in a face-swapping Chinese magic show - in fact, the only skilled practitioner of this art living in the UK. We can’t say too much about his performance and will leave it to your imagination. What happened in certain events should stay there to maintain its exclusivity!
Dolce Vita Valentine
The Brief: Create a Valentine evening in style with the hotel and open to guests.
Venue: Baglioni Hotel London.
What we did: Looked at the essence of the hotel, its values and style. The glamour of Italy in the golden era, the sought after evenings of entertainment in Rome during those years. Valentines day means romance and where to find more romance and glamour than in the movies of Fellini? We looked at the venue, a cabaret style space called Clubino. We created the concept, “A Dolce Vita Cabaret Evening.” Combining forces with the fabulous catering team of the Baglioni, we tailored a dinner experience which included live music performed by the fabulous Dolce Vita Live Band. We created a cabaret performance showcasing Francesca Confortinis performing the classics from Mambo Italiano to Americano amongst the tables. A series of performances based on the popular entertainment styles of the times, from dramatic opera, to passionate tango dance, magic and mysticism from the bespoke character Pearl of Wisdom, brought a message of love to all guests.
